We Have To Stay In Touch…

We are HOPEFUL To Be Able To Meet Soon

But We Are Still Waiting For The Virus To Say Goodbye…
And Life To Get Back To Normal!

ARE YOU TIRED OF MASKS YET?
I AM…

We Still Are Planning To Meet in August If All Goes Well
BUT
Right Now The Church Is Still Not Open,
So Fingers Crossed Things Will Change By August 11th

Please mark your calendars for our Angel Meeting
August 11th, 2020
8:30 am to 9:30 am

Pasadena Community Church, Life Enrichment Center
227 70th Street South, St Petersburg, FL

I am really looking forward to seeing all of my special Angels at our August Meeting. Whether it is an “Air Hug” or a “Real Hug”, I am going to be overjoyed to see each of you who will take the time to come and be a part of our meeting.

We are still hoping to have our Annual Gala which we moved to September 19th, but again it depends on what happens over the next few months with the COVD-19 virus. Although we want our event this year, we want it to be the success we have enjoyed over the past 14 years which may mean we need to reschedule to April 2021. As a backup, we are holding April 10th 2021 just in case we need to move it one last time. We will keep everyone in the loop of any changes and a final decision will be made the 2nd week of August regarding this year’s Gala. Just know that whether we have it in 2020 or 2021, the night will be a night to remember and we are counting on your support!

We feel this event will lift everyone’s spirits and bring all of us together to celebrate life and all it brings with its ups and downs and the strength that each of us have to make a difference in the lives of others. Whether we have it in 2020 or 2021, it will be AWESOME!

We know these past few months have been difficult and frustrating, but we are starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. We need to stay positive and focus on what is good in our world and pray for those individuals who have suffered so much.

JUST HANG IN THERE!

THANK YOU

to all the first responders, the community leaders, the generous individuals and our Angels who are making a difference in the lives of children and families. Over the past several months you have worked tireless hours to help the children and families in our community who are in need of so much be safe and cared for. To all of our friends and family members who are struggling through this difficult time, our prayers and thoughts are with you!

NEVER lose sight of HOPE, hold on to your FAITH, and know that WE are all in this TOGETHER! God never puts more on our plate than we can handle and there will be brighter days ahead of us. WE all need to pull together as ONE and find PEACE and HARMONY in our days ahead!

ATTENTION PLEASE

If our Gala has to be postponed again due to the COVD-19 Pandemic and the many restrictions that have been placed on all of us, our reserved date will be April 10th 2021. If this change does occur, we will immediately notify everyone. We apologize for the inconvenience that this has placed on all of our wonderful supporters and we hope you will work with us. We are so grateful for all you do and your support is the only way that we can do what we do!

PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE TO PURCHASE TICKETS IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE SO ALREADY.

Our Annual Blue Ribbon Gala is our only event that raises awareness in our community as to what we do for the children and families we assist 24/7 who are victims of abuse and neglect. This year will be a CELEBRATION in our ability to get through the tough times and soar like an eagle! We are all stronger and better as a result of what we have endured over the last several months. This year’s Gala will be special for so many reasons, so PLEASE Join us for a spectacular evening…

Angels Against Abuse Gives HOPE,
Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow….

The Kind Mouse has been busier than ever during this difficult time packing and delivering to hungry children and families by filling there little bellies. No child should go to bed hungry and thanks to the Kind Mouse, little bellies get filled every day!

Healthy Start recently announced that Angels Against Abuse was named their Volunteers of the Year for all we do for the little ones and their moms throughout the year! Thank you so much for this recognition.

Despite Covid affecting many families being able to visit with their children face to face, the Angel Center has been providing a safe and clean environment for children to be able to visit with their families. This has been a positive and heartwarming experience to able to see the interactions between the parent and children after not being able to see each other in months. The children’s face light up when they see their parents, which makes it all worth it to be operating under such circumstances.

Quote from parent, “I am so glad that the the Angel Center is open for me to be able to visit my children. It has been months since I’ve visited with them in person and I am so relieved that the center has provided a safe place for me and my children to bond and reconnect after so long. Thank you so much!”

A BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY
TO OUR OLDEST ANGEL
MY MOM WHO IS TURNING 90 THIS MONTH

My mom is a mom to many of us and especially to me. She touches the lives of so many children with putting their Angel Bags together making sure the bags will put a smile on their face as well as wrapping hundreds of Christmas Presents for our Christmas Celebration! Thank you mom! Happy Birthday from all of us.

The Campbell Park Elementary School (First Five Program) is under way and changing lives even during the Pandemic. The Expert is currently working full time with the children and families daily. All services are provided to the children, teachers and parents virtually using Zoom technology. These services are provided at no cost to the families. There is constant oversight to make sure the children are safely housed. There are presently over 100 pre-school and elementary school children attending Campbell Park Elementary who are homeless or housing unstable living in a hotel/motel.

Healthy Start had a request for the Angels that came to us around the time of the Pandemic. Samantha is a high risk blind mother who was in need of several items before the birth of her son. COVID-19 hit in her seventh month of pregnancy. Her husband lost his job as a result of the Pandemic and struggled with his own sobriety doing two stents in rehab while COVID-19 was going. Samantha gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby boy on Mother’s Day 2020. At the babies last doctors appointment they discovered a few different lumps, one in his groin area and a few at the base of his skull. Thanks to the support of the Angels Samantha received the items she was missing to bring a new baby home from the hospital. Without the support of the Angels, she would not have had diapers, wipes and some of the other basic necessities for her new baby boy

Special thanks to Joan C Tiffany for her generosity and kindness for all the brand new clothes she ordered and had shipped from Children’s Place. the shipment arrived with all sizes for boys and girls clothes and shoes. We are surrounded by good people who do amazing things in times of need and with all the negative in our world, sometimes goodness and kindness is overlooked. Thank you so much Joan for making a difference in the lives of children who are looking for a little Hope in their lives.

Directions for Living – During the Pandemic, there have been so many emergency needs and families in desperate need of everything. The Angel Resource Center has remained stocked and available for the needs of our community partners. To further assist them during this challenging times, we have had many items shipped directly to them to keep everyone safe and out of harms way.

When it comes to helping others, there are no little things…the accumulation of a lot of little things isn’t little…it takes each of us to make a difference for all of us…none of us can do everything at one, but all of us can do something at once…one person can make a difference, and every person must try…
