PRESS RELEASE
Ribbon Cutting / Dedication Ceremony
The Angel Center
Please join us July 21, 2017 at 9 AM for the ribbon cutting and dedication of The Angel Center! “It’s been a vision the Angels of to have a place for children to have hope for a better tomorrow and break the pattern of abuse” says Sandy Kearney, president of Angels Against Abuse, a 100 percent volunteer non-profit dedicated to meeting the many needs of foster children in Pinellas County.
Located at 2300 Tall Pines Drive, Suite 100 in Largo, The Angel Center is a cheerful, child-friendly environment thanks to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium who have donated their time and their talent to make this facility a place that children will want to visit.
“Eckerd Community Alternatives would like to thank Angels Against Abuse for The Angels Center. The visitation center will provide more visitation opportunities for the children and families that we serve daily. Because of our partnership with Angels Against Abuse and a vision of Sandy Kearney, this is the first free Visitation Center of its kind.” (Brian Bostick, Executive Director, Eckerd Community Alternatives, Pinellas and Pasco)
The Angel Center is “A place of joy to soothe a child’s hurting heart and turn tears into smiles” says Laurallyn Segur, Director of Foster Care Licensing and Recruitment at Eckerd Community Alternatives. Sandy Kearney adds, “Thanks to the generous donation of Nick and Kay Catizone, The Clearwater Marine Aquarium and The BrewHaHa Foundation, the Angels’ 10 year vision has become a reality!”
The need for the Angel Center is dire and long overdue. Please join us!

We Need YOUR Help!
PLEASE SPONSOR A CHILD – $50 PUTS A SMILE ON A FACE….
We need your help! As everyone knows from last week’s EMAIL Blast, the Angels are on the move and we have a lot going on. I know it is summer and everyone is taking a little break, catching their breath and doing a little R&R which is AWESOME! However, we have some major events approaching that we need to start gearing up for and we need your help in getting the word out! All of our events are right at your fingertips with all the details, just below. All you have to do is click on the appropriate button and just like magic, you have reached your destination.
Our next major Angel event is our famous Mad Hatter Tea Party. This year we have had to cut our budget for this event due to the many programs that we provide to children and youth who have been victims of abuse and their many needs. Also, as you know, we are launching our newest project, the Angel Visitation Center, which is very exciting and will impact children’s lives daily who are trying to be reunified with their parents. We are still planning to have thee Mad Hatter Tea Party for these kids so they can walk away with a memory that they can hold on to forever. It is hard to put a price tag on a memory because it is not something you can touch, but rather you can only see when these children run through the amazing Rabbit Hole we have created for them into a magical afternoon of nothing but pure fun and excitement. If every Angel on our email blast distribution list would sponsor one child, we would be able to create this magical experience for them with no problem at all! It is like eating an elephant one bite at a time with everyone working together as one. To sponsor a child is only $50 which could be shared by two people or if you were unable to sponsor, maybe you have a family member or friend that could write that check. Let’s start the challenge TODAY and see how quickly we can make this happen. The clock is ticking because September 23rd is right around the corner. If you are able to meet this challenge, you can write a check payable to Angels Against Abuse, Inc. 5404 Leilani Drive, St Pete Beach, FL 33706 or you can pay via PayPal. Every dollar makes a difference and every child needs to smile, even if only for an afternoon. You never know the impact you will be making. Thank you in advance for helping us to help them!!!
Any Questions, just email me below. Sandy Kearney, The Mad Hatter
Please email Sandy Kearney [email protected] with any questions regarding upcoming events.

ANGEL VISITATION CENTER
The VISION that the Angels had for many years is now going to be a REALITY! That famous saying that Walt Disney says
“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”
“If you can Dream it, You can Do It!”
Stay Tuned for Details
The Angel Visitation Center is scheduled to open its’ doors for Visitations starting August 2017. This Center is conveniently located near both Eckerd Community Alternatives and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, and many of our Community Partners for ease and convenience to the all the parties that impact a child’s life while in Foster Care.
This Center will be a place where children and their families will visit who are in the process of reunification. When they walk through the doors of this Center, the Angels want them to not only feel welcome but we want to instantly put a smile on their face! It is the Angel Way of doing things and making a difference in the lives of the children and youth we advocate for 24/7. Thanks to Clearwater Marine Aquarium, the theme of the Center will be A SURPRISE!
There will be an Open House and the details will be announced via Constant Contact Email Blast throughtout the summer, so please make sure you read your emails so you don’t miss out on any events! There will be tours available once the facility is finished.
This is so EXCITING and our Community Partners are anxious and looking forward to utilizing this well-needed facility in our area.
