Santa is making His list and checking it twice
to see who has been naughty or nice …
Yes Angels, it is that time of year that we start putting together the Wish List for the children we advocate for all year long. This is an important time of the year to put smiles on the faces of children who often have little to smile about.
As usual, our list is BIG so we are counting on each of YOU to help us make a difference….

CALLING ALL ANGELS…

ANGEL MEETING
KICK-OFF TO OUR CHRISTMAS GIVING
8:30 am – 9:30 am
Pasadena Community Church, Life Enrichment Center
227 70th Street South
St Petersburg, FL

HELLO ANGELS

Guest Speaker – Dora Starling, Pinellas County Foster and Adoptive Parent Association. They will be continuing our legacy of the Annual Child Advocacy Expo. We look forward to hearing about what they do and their plans for the 2019 Expo….

The Focus for our November Meeting will be gearing up for our Annual Christmas Giving. The Angels make magic for hundreds of children who need a little magic in their lives, the children we advocate for 24/7. For many of these children we give them a day to remember for years to come and HOPE for a better tomorrow. In order for us to accomplish this huge task, we need your help! Christmas is just around the corner and their is a lot of preparation and plans to make this magic happen….We put a lot of smiles on the faces of children in our community who often have little to smile about. We cannot possibly create these special memories and smiles without you, so please set time aside from your busy schedules to attend our November Meeting to see how you can help. Last year we did over 300 children and that is really outstanding but there are so many children who never will get the real meaning of Christmas without our generous hearts.

PLEASE RSVP and try to make our meeting. If anyone has any new business to bring to the meeting, this is a great way to stay connected and keep our members engaged.

Please click below to rsvp with a YES or a NO
so I can make sure the room is set up.

We look forward to seeing you. Bring a Friend to join in the fun of the MAGIC we make in children’s lives.

WE ARE PASSING THE TORCH

There is nothing better than to plant a seed and watch it grow. The Angels had a vision 10 years ago to find ways to get to know our community leaders and assess the needs of the children and youth we serve in the child welfare system. We also wanted to bring everyone together in one room and introduce them to the many resources available in our community in an effort to strengthen our partners ability to grow as well with their mission. We felt that working together as a TEAM would benefit the children, youth and families in the child welfare system. Our vision became a reality with the Child Advocacy Expo. This event has been effective in helping our partners network with one another, find ways to combine their efforts, eliminate duplication, identify solutions, and finding common ground that impacts our children in a much bigger way. Over the past 10 years this event has evolved to include not only our community partners, but also includes the organizations and businesses who provide funding by allowing one on one introductions; we have opened our doors to include students who are looking for possible employment opportunities within the system. This Expo has become a valuable resource in our community! After our 10 year journey, we feel we accomplished our goal and we now want to find new ways to make a difference in the community.

October 12th, 2018, was our last Child Advocacy Expo! BUT! Within minutes of this announcement, we were approached by Dora Starling with the Pinellas County Foster and Adoptive Parent Association that they would like to take the Expo over. it was a bitter sweet moment for the Angels, but there is no greater compliment than to have a program continue on with new blood and new excitement! Thank you Dora for keeping our legacy alive and you can count on the Angels to help in any way we can. Sandy Kearney

Special thanks to Nicole Spinelli for chairing this event for 10 years and to all those helping Angels that show up and meet and greet our guests.

Each of us can look back upon someone who made a great difference in our lives, often a teacher or a volunteer whose wisdom or simple acts of caring made an impression. In all likelihood, it was someone who sought no recognition for their deed other than the joy of knowing that, by their hand, another’s life had been made better. God Bless our Volunteers!
